Sparkling with TCP

The newest TCP Tuesday challenge is up right now and we are looking for Red, White and Blue with Sparkle!   Of course the hardest part of the challenge for me was adding the sparkle.

TCP Ingredients:  Sending You stamp set (sentiment), Sending Die, He Said She Said Die, Retired Hot Air Balloon set, but here is a similar one
As I mentioned, sparkle was the most difficult.   I die cut the word sending, then covered it with Stickles.   The stickles made it too silvery so I used a blue copic marker and ran it over the stickles.

Join in the fun by linking up your sparkly red, white and blue creation on the TCP blog.   All stamps are welcome, but of course we always love seeing what you create with TCP.   One random participant will win a gift certificate to the TCP Store.

Julie

Summer Thank Yous

Hello!
Today I have a summer themed project up on the YNS blog along with a few others from the YNS design team.   The team has spent the past couple days sharing summer fun creations.   There are so many great ideas to dress up your summer parties and more.

I created a trio of fishy topped gift card holder cards / party favors.

To create the holders, I started off by folding a 4.5 " x 11"sheet of paper lengthwise at 4.25".   When folded, this creates one flap that is 4.25" and another that is 6.75".  That is fine, because the shorter piece is going to be cut down later to create the card.
Place the pocket die as shown, with the cut part of the top of the pocket over the edge of the fold.   With the top of the pocket cutting above the fold it will not cut the paper and therefore leave the card fold intact.

Run the paper and die through your die cutting machine.   100 lb water color paper was used for these cards and the die easily cut through both layers.

Open the card and cut off the partial flap on the shorter side.

  Stamp sentiments as shown.

Decorate card front as desired.  Assemble the pocket and fill it with gift card or other item.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Summer Day

Hi Everyone!
The TCP Tuesday challenge from The Cat's Pajamas continues this week and we are still on the lookout for summer creations.

Perhaps you or your loved ones do a little fishing over the summer?   If so, then this is the stamp set for you!   A bit of water coloring on each, but overall clean and simple.   Each of my cards just happens to be perfect for the SCS CAS challenge this week which is to create a masculine card.

TCP Ingredients:   Friendship stamp set

Join in the fun by linking up your summer filled creation on the TCP blog.   All stamps are welcome, but of course we always love seeing what you create with TCP.   One random participant will win a gift certificate to the TCP Store.

Upsy Daisy

Head on over to our Design Team Dare post on the Your Next Stamp blog for your chance to win a stamp set of your choice.  Simply leave a comment on the post and you are entered to win.

This month's Dare is to create an encouraging card.   Today is Upsy Daisy day and what better way to share some encouragement than with a card!

YNS Supplies:  Waddles - Gardening Fun stamp set | Waddles - Gardening Fun Die set | Tiny Dots Edge stamp | Circles die set | Doily Trio One Die Set
My card is based on Sketch Saturday #415.  The oval from the sketch was swapped out with a circle, but all the other elements remain the same.

The doily works great as a layer and it is easy to die cut out.   I am sometimes leary of intricate  dies because I don't want to deal with the little pieces that need to be popped out.  The doilies cut cleanly and I simply ran my fingers over the paper to remove the die cut pieces.

Jule

One thing that my sons love to do in the summer (and really any time when there is no snow on the ground) is ride their scooters.   Add in some warm colors and a sunshine filled sentiment and there you have summer!

YNS June New Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Your Next Stamp June New Release Blog Hop!

The June release is available in the  Your Next Stamp store right now.  Check out the entire list of blogs showcasing new release products at the bottom of my post.   Hop hop hop and comment comment comment for you chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate to the YNS store.

This release is full of cute stamps, sentiment sets, versatile dies, and a new stamp style which I am excited to show you today.  Let's get right to the new style, because I really like it and can't wait any longer.

My first creation today is a card using the new stamp set Snuggles.   This set is done in a drawing style that is new to Your Next Stamp and I find it reminiscent of a children's storybook.
Snuggles Stamp Set

Snuggles is colored up with Zig water color brush markers.  The extra details on the fur make this one so easy to color and shade.   I decided to keep my card on the clean and simple side and focus on the stamp.

Up next is a new Waddles stamp set, Waddles - Gardening Fun, paired up with a new tag die set, Cool Tag Three, that is similar to a luggage tag.

Cool Tag Three Die Set, Waddles - Gardening Fun stamp set and die set

Cool Tag Three is so easy to use because it comes with all the dies needed to create everything from a simple tag to a shaker tag.  The window is a separate die which means you can use it or leave it off. For each of the tags I am sharing today, the window cut out was used and layered against a full tag to create a frame.  The first tag was turned in to a shaker using the mini flowers and hearts included in the tag die set.

So many of the new stamps and dies are quickly becoming my go to items.   Now is the time to stock up with a great salein the YNS store.

Don't forget to leave a comment before you go.  Happy hopping!
Smiles,
Julie
